Russian Solitaire: what to know before playing

For a calm first round, focus on one decision. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear. Begin with the objective. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

One thing to notice as you play

For a calm first round, focus on one decision. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

The goal to keep in mind

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer. Look at the complete hand before deciding.

Step by step

  1. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Move exposed cards onto suit foundations in the stated rank order.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

How your actions work

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear. Treat this as a chance to practise one rule.

See the idea in action

A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

An important reminder

Before making a move, check the cards in view. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.
